Beautiful Days.........

Few photos from Beautiful Days - not a great one for the the old camera shots - believe it or not - prefer ones that capture the moment hopefully these do - plus I have far too many of tents in fields, four blokes on a stage, randomn peoples arms and heads and the floor!!

Thursday when I arrived as I was working there - one of the pluses of stewarding no queuing - its the legacy of driving metros for years that I still get panicky in queues (overheating issues) - a bit strange I know that is a bigger thing than the free ticket and three meals plus £30 for me - which to be honest the last bit they need to look at - money back on the tik after event would be better - then we don't have people disappear mid shift..

This was my tree phase on Friday night - probably heading down to see Mr Echo and his Bunnymen - was my only free night of unsobriety and for some reason all I had in my head was the Young ones sketch of Rik Mayall going "Dear Mr Echo" at this point - I thought they were a bit on the boring side but then again I never was a big fan in their heyday - but I had just seen these guys Pama International and this is one of my surreal photos....

Just loved the colours in the Little Big Top - and two of Pama Int (who are a ska and reggae band) were stood at the bar in Pussy Parlure where I was working that afternoon - and thats whats nice I think its family trait we don't recognise famous people - well I know they aren't that famous but Lynval Golding was in the Specials (and I always think that their single "Ghost Town" was such an evocative single of times of what was going on) - my sis can go one better (and I know I'm digressing slightly) she chatted away to this guy for 10 minutes when she took my niece down to the park when living in Spain before she realised it was Harrison Ford - in her words " he looked familiar but just couldn't quite place him".

These guys in my mind really rocked - Divokej Bill - from the Czech Republic - randomn head shot I know included but who wants perfect photos - the one thing that stuck out from the programme and why they had to mention it - cos they were good - but you don't really want to know they recently won third place in the Czech Music Awards who were 1 and 2 is something you think about.

I have no idea who this photo is of - just like the colours...answers on a postcard please.

And the bubbles on this one - I'm hedging a bet it could be Gomez - who I thought were great - and in one sense cameras are great - they are a recording of what you can't remember - I still to this day have no remembrance of Friday evening at Glastonbury last year after talking to this guy who was wearing an identical Uncle Ho T-shirt whilst watching the Egg - I know I was with friends and tent was found - thats why stewarding is so great to me - keeps me in check.

Ah the Deep Sea Jivers - was just before the really helly shift of midnight to 6 in the morn - down at the Bimble Inn - magic place.

Gonna just say here - you do see a different side to the festival if you work - working in the Pussy Parlure which after a certain time was dance - one of us was into Joni Mitchell and I'm into the same plus rock - 4 hours of it - my head was heading to addledome in addition to dealing with a radio where the the only clear message I got was that elephants and donkeys were flying across the stage - but some guys from the towers were green in envy - cushty job - no within half hour of clocking on on Sun Morning I was dealing with a girl being hewey lewey out of the door whilst this Scots lad was telling me he was a tiger "ra ra ra" - trying to not let people get in throught the fire doors and the worst guys for this were people who worked on the festival site.

The Pussy Crew - all I can say from this photo we were so glad to finish the shift - we had hairy moments when everybody came up the hill to party - keep everyone to the right and queue - good moments sat outside the Bimble half four in the morning playing I spy something beginning with "T" - tree - correct - drowning in tiredness in the Proclaimers dressing room at quarter past five in the morning - well one of us was - big smile.

As I say you see it from diff side but you still have a good time - met some great people - Jo from Newhaven who I bimbled down to the Bimble Inn with on a couple of occasions - and the star man was the guy who sang one of his own numbers about his cat having fleas (good voice) before being removed and replaced with a sorted guy from Sheffield - was lazy crazy days ..... and I come back the thing of lack famous recognition sat on the hill outside the Bimble three in the morning - two guys and I will say to be honest I wouldn't have known they were (convo bit iffy) - but he wanted to scrounge some baccy and then said he was Mr "subgiant" who played on the main stage on the Sunday avvy - gave me his card - all I can say total madness and a big smile.
